The automotive fuel pump is an integral component of a vehicle. Fuel, which is what makes the vehicle run, needs to be pumped from the fuel tank to the engine and delivered under low pressure to the carburetor or under a high pressure to the fuel injection system. Some of the fuel injected engines have two for the purpose which is one of the two pumps is the low pressure/high volume supply pump in the tank and the other one is a high pressure/low volume pump on or near the engine. The fuel pump in your vehicle may be an electric pump or a mechanical pump. In the earlier versions of vehicles, the mechanical pump is being used. But instead, it activates a relay which will take care of the higher current load that is needed to make the fuel pump work.
