Some famous car manufacturers, at one time or another, had in their automobile fleet a series or line of vehicles. Toyota also had its own line of mid-size luxury sedan called the Toyota Crown. But before anything else, it is practical to know first what the company, maker of such model, is all about. The Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese car maker that was established in 1933. Such vehicle was marketed in the United States sometime in 1950s until 1971, in the Netherlands and Belgium, the United Kingdom until the 1980s, in Canada from 1965 trough 1968 and in Australia from 1960s up to 1980s. The Crown is mainly available in Japanese and some Asian markets though.

The main distinguishing feature of the Crown is the “crown” badge at the front. The Crown had its twelfth model in 2003. The first Crowns were produced from 1955 to 1962. It was called the RS-S30 Models. It featured a 1.5-liter engine. The second Crowns or S40 Models were produced from 1962 until 1967. Custom, Master Line, Deluxe and Super Deluxe models were offered. Became bigger and had more power. Third Crowns or S50 Models were produced from 1967 to 1971. It had additional equipments and variations of trims. Fourth Crowns or S60 and S70 Models were produced from 1971 until 1974. It was equipped with powerful engine and the Super Saloon trim level was offered.

The Fifth Crowns or S80 and S100 Models which were produced from 1974 through 1979 until the Eleventh Crowns or S170 Models which were produced from 1999 up to 2003 all had relatively the same changes – power, trims and designs are basically involved. For the present Crowns, the S180 Models had the Royal, Athlete and Majesta as fresh models. The first two features a V6 powerplant, while the third one uses the 4.3-liter, V8 engine.
