Triumph GT6 Parts |
Triumph Motor Company may not be as popular as other leading car manufacturers but if you are one of those people who own a Triumph vehicle, you are leading to the right track if you are looking for quality auto parts and accessories replacements. It is not easy to look for Triumph car parts because there are only few people who maintain such brand.
Initially, Triumph is an automobile brand founded by Seigfrield Brittman and Mauritz Schultze. Bicycle is the product first introduced by the Triumph Motor Company in 1885, which is called the Triumph bicycle. Brittman’s acquisition of the Dawson Car company in 1921 initiated the manufacturing of the Triumph Light Car, which is 1.9 L vehicle. Until the 1929 depression, the company continued creating more cars. After the depression, the company altered its name to Triumph Motor Company. After the Second World War, it was acquired by Standard Motor Company, which made an effort to revive Triumph from loss and destruction of property. In the 1960s, the company united with Leyland Motors and carried on in the production of Triumph cars. Different mechanical problem and poor quality, however, made the Triumph lose its popularity. Now, the Triumph trademark is already owned by BMW but not a single Triumph car was ever produced by the company.
The Triumph GT6 is one of the cars manufactured by Standard-Triumph from 1966 to 1973. It is a six-cylinder sports coupe based on the well-liked Triumph Spitfire convertible. The car has a sleek fastback design with a rear hatch opening. It is a two-seater with extra rear seat space big enough for additional passengers. Although the Spitfire has some similarity to the GT6, the main body panels were distinct. Its six cylinder engine was adjusted to extend to 95 horsepower and 106mph top speed and 0-60mph in 11.7seconds. GT6 radiator was also new and mounted forward in the car with sturdier gearbox component. To cope up with the additional weight of the new engine, the front springs were enhanced. When it comes to the interior, the Triumph GT6 was well provided with heater, carpets together with the wooden dashboard that accommodated the instruments.
