Toyota Matrix Parts

The Toyota Matrix is a crossover vehicle, which combines SUV styling and car handling. It basically shares its interior and mechanical features with GM's Vibe; however, the two cars have different sheet metal. The Pontiac Vibe was produced by NUMMI, a joint venture of Toyota and General Motors. Both the Matrix and the Vibe are offered in a trendy station wagon design that appealed mostly to younger drivers. Although the Matrix's cargo area isn't that impressively big, it is larger than the cargo area of other cars in its class. When the front passenger and rear seats are folded down, the Matrix can accommodate an 8-ft long object.

For the 2005 model year, Toyota Matrix offers more fun and driving satisfaction in a compact-priced small sport utility vehicle. It features slightly revised exterior, new stylish taillights, new and sporty front bumper, aggressive-looking grille and bigger cargo space reaching up to 53 cubic feet. Three level trims are offered: the standard Matrix, the XR and the XRS. First two trims are offered in two-wheel or four-wheel drive versions. The base and the XR 2WD models are equipped with a 1.8 L four cylinder 130-horsepower engine. The 4WDs have a 123-hp engine while the top of the line front-wheel drive XRS is powered by a 180-horsepower version of the same engine.

As the level trim gets higher, a wider range of optional features becomes available but it doesn't mean you should expect the standard Matrix to be too spartan. Available as standard to the base model are air conditioning, lever-type seat-height adjuster, sliding sun visor, AM/ FM radio, CD player, UV cut glass and new audio head unit. A Power Package is also offered, giving it additional features such as power windows, door locks and remote keyless entry while the mid-level trim have these as standard features. Also standard to the XR are rear window wiper, automatic transmission. An Extra Value Package is offered, giving it more comfort and stylish features including cruise control, fog lights and front and rear spoilers. The upper level trim, on the other hand gets more performance features than the other Matrix cars. It boasts of 16-in alloy wheels, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and four-wheel disc brakes.
