The front-wheel drive G6 automobile uses a General Motors Epsilon platform having the powerplant positioned at the front portion of the vehicle. Available powerplants for it include a 2.4-liter Ecotec LE5I4 engine, 3.5-liter 3500 LX9 V6 engine producing 201 horsepower, and 3.9-liter LZ9 V6 engine generating 240 horsepower. The G6 was offered in the following body styles – as a 2-door convertible that was introduced at the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show, 2-door coupe and as 4-door sedan.
