The station wagon, in American usage, wagon in Australia, estate car for the British, or a break in French, is a vehicle that has a body style similar to a sedan but with an extended cargo area at the rear. The Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser was first produced in 1964 and lasted for only 13 years. Its design was based on the Oldsmobile Cutlass Cruiser but had a slightly longer wheelbase. Noted for the glass installed on the roof above the second-row seating and for the smaller glass panels on top of the rear cargo area windows, the Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser was a 4-door station wagon unveiled on February 4, 1964 as a 1964 model. It continued for five more model years as a jazzed-up trim level of the Cutlass Supreme until the Cutlass Cruiser was re-launched in 1978.
