When the truck was revamped and introduced as the Datsun 520, it generated positive response and increase orders.
From then on Nissan trucks have continued to uphold its innovative design and engineering on the truck market. Nissan introduced a series of breakthrough which included the first half-ton pickup in 1969; the first long beds in 1975; and the King Cab in 1977. The success of the Nissan Truck led the company to be the first import manufacturer of pickups in the United States.
In 1987 Nissan introduced its sixth generation truck known as the Hardbody and became one of its best-selling vehicles. This low-priced truck is an excellent choice for on-road and off-road driving. The disadvantage of this model is that it is prone to corrosion, especially the fenders, frames, and box. A better model called the Frontier continued where the Hardbody left of. This rugged truck has one of the largest beds and is fitted with an assortment of features. Such feature includes a 6-cylinder engine and a 4-wheel drive.
