The Datsun 310 is known in so many names, when it was released in 1978, it was exported to Australia carrying the name Datsun Pulsar. In Europe, it was either called the Datsun Cherry or the Datsun 100A/120A/130A/140A/150A. The name Datsun 310 is used in the United States. The Nissan Pulsar is just a small car, originally conceived as a front-wheel drive replacement for Nissan Cherry. There’s a three- or five-door hatchback sedan Pulsar, a three- or five-door van or station wagon model, and a three-door fastback coupe with wraparound rear window and a four-door fastback sedan. This car made Datsun big in the Netherlands and other European nations. Undergoing a few facelifts, the original exterior were changed, the 2 and 4 door version got altered on the rear panel. IT now had square lights instead of the narrow vertical ones with new boot lid. The elliptical badges having the Datsun or Cherry were changed to a triangular grille. Coming from different markets, there are certain differences in the specifications. Example, the Nissan Cherry had no sidelights in the front bumper. In Swede, they got headlamp washers where the water comes from a separate bag, situated next to the windscreen washer bag found on the left inner wing. After the introduction of the Pulsar NX, the Nissan Pulsar hatchback was dropped from the lineup. As a result, you don’t see much of this type of Pulsar on the road anymore. However, there are still a few in some places, especially in other countries. Since it is not produced anymore, finding parts for this model is one of the common problems the owners are facing today.
