Mercedes Benz 230 Parts |
German auto giants Mercedes-Benz is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of automobiles, trucks, buses, and coaches. Mercedes-Benz is also the world’s oldest incessantly-produced vehicle line, and the decades it has spent on the business can be seen on the progress of their vehicles, particularly on one of its models, the Mercedes Benz 230.
The Mercedes-Benz name was attributed to its most important DMG model at that time, the Mercedes-35hp. Founder Karl Benz was a German engine designer who created the gasoline-powered vehicle. Since then, internal combustion engines are now a requisite to every vehicle out there, and it’s only appropriate that Karl Benz would head an automotive empire that still brings a nod to every car aficionado all over the world.
The Mercedes Benz 230 is a part of the Mercedes Benz W113 line, which is produced from the years 1963 to 1971. These vehicles were marketed as pagoda roof SL class cars. By 1963, the W 198 SL-Class was replaced by the R107 SL Class in the year 1972. All of the models sport an inline 6-cylinder engine featuring multiple port fuel injection. It utilizes the application of a mechanical pump system, which is modified from diesel motors. Every W113 cars are rear-wheel drive rides, but it also comes with an independent rear suspension system, a factor that superbly enhances road handling. Majority of early SL cars were put up for sale with both the soft top and the detachable hard top in the purported Coupe/Roadster configurations. However, there is also the California Coupe variety available that’s equipped with a detachable hard top, minus the soft top. Among said models, the soft top well (situated between the trunk and the passenger compartment) is removed, and a bench seat is attached to take its place.
Whereas the SLs are comparatively heavy measured up to other roadsters bearing the same features, weight was dropped down in part with the application of aluminum panels for the front hood, trunk lid, door skins, and tonneau covers. 1963 has seen the production of the Mercedes Benz 230. And up to this date this model can still be seen plying around the streets. This goes to show that the Mercedes Benz 230 can be competitive as the new car models today.
