Continental Mark was the vehicle created under Lincoln marque and developed in the Lincoln-Mercury division. The engineers of Ford Motor Company worked in building this concept in the Wixom, Michigan factory plant in North America. In its first release, Continental Mark proved its worth and slotted on top level of personal luxury car market. Due to that success, the division decided to extend its horizon, and continued its existence as a series.

After every generation of Continental Mark, the platform constantly transforms. From the first edition Continental Mark III noticeable stylish concept was present. The Continental Mark IV upgrades and necessary changes are made possible in order to always provide the customers something new and fresh. And in the third generation, a lot more different edition came out as Lincoln Continental Mark V, apparently named after its predecessors.

Continental Mark V was definitely different. This time it has become a large coupe-style car showcasing angular styling, making it look longer and lower. Though a new engine was introduced, the one that it replaced was retained as an option to all units except those that are developed in California, for it was only made available in the first two years of production. In general however, Continental Mark V remained as a Platform that possesses the exclusive identity of Lincoln. It’s also available in Bill Blass, Cartier, Givenchy, and Pucci Editions.

Aside from the noticeable transformations that happened during the production of Continental Mark V, Lincoln also for the first time able to outsell the Cadillac El Dorado.
