The Jeep Commando or the C104 is just a revolutionary model of the Jeepster, a model that was introduced by the Willy’s-Overland in 1948. It was the bridging gap between the “utilitarian type” truck vehicles into the automobile market type. However, its sales output was not that impressive so it was soon dropped. Came 1966 when the name Jeepster was again relived as a new model called the C-101 Jeepster Commando. It was offered in three models to which are the convertible, pickup truck and wagon. The same sales output resulted so the production was halted in 1969. In 1970, with the Jeep brought to Kaiser by the AMC, the name Jeepster was finally dropped in 1971. The new model was named as the Jeep Commando or C104.

The Commando was introduced in 1971. Its notable feature is the grille design that was akin to the Bronco’s. Said automobile was equipped with an AMC powerplant – either the 232 cubis inches, 3.8-liter engine, or the 258 cubic inches, 4.2-liter AMC Straight 6 engine, or the 304 cubic inches, 5.0-liter AMC V8 engine. Because of its poor attraction and its sales output did not make it big, the production was immediately discontinued two years after.
