Back in the 1960s, Gladiator was the name of Jeep pickups. This concept however harkens back further to more militaristic Jeep truck of the 1950s. The Jeep Gladiator actually alters the Wrangler into a pickup truck, exhibiting the Comanches’ past concept. The historic box side-mounted spare of the early Jeep models and the open-air canvas top are featured in this vehicle. The vehicle has a 1,500-pound payload and the rear has dual concentric springs. Its ground clearance is 13.7 inches with a break-over angle of 23.2 degree and an approach angle of 47.6 and departure angle of 38.0 degrees. Both the front and rear tires are 34 inches and are mounted on 18x8-inch wheels. The Jeep Gladiator actually has the wrangler front end with a tiny extended cab and a seven foot cargo box. Making room for the jaunty, side mounted spare is the vehicle’s ultra-long, 138-inch wheelbase.
