GMC Canyon Parts

The GMC Canyon replaced the GMC Sonoma in 2003. It is slightly bigger than the earlier GMC pickup. It shares its platform and engines with the Chevrolet Colorado, which is also marketed by General Motors; however, they have different trim details. New engines fitted to this new GMC compact pickup are the 2.8 L 4 cylinder 175-hp base engine and the higher trim's 3.5 L inline 5 cylinder 220-hp engine. These two engines have dual overhead cams and are mated with either manual or automatic transmission.

Regular cab, extended cab and crew cab body designs are available for the GMC Canyon. The regular cab offers comfortable seats for three persons while the extended cab accommodates five adults. The Crew Cab affords plenty of room for a family or group of six. Extended cab has dual rear-hinged doors while the Crew cab has four full-size doors and split-bench folding rear seats good for three persons. Both have flat load floor that provides more loading space. All three are equipped with heavy duty Z85 suspension package that provide outstanding hauling capability and can tow up to 4,000 lbs.

Canyon is offered both in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Standard parts include ABS, traction control with limited slip differential on the 2WD and 15-inch alloy wheels. A high-riding Z71 suspension that affords the GMC Canyon excellent off-road driving ability is available for the three cabs. For the 2005 model, a new sunroof is available as well as leather package for the Crew cab. All other models come with side steps, and stereo with CD/MP3 player. A satellite radio and OnStar assistance are also offered for added security and safety.
