The Ford Econoline, or the Ford E-Series as it is popularly called, is a line of full-size vans manufactured and sold by Ford since 1961 up to the present. When introduced in 1961, the Ford Econoline was available in cargo version, passenger version and pickup truck version. The original models were equipped with a powerful inline-type 6-cylinder engine while its first V8 became available for the 1968 model year. It received a major redesign in 1975 that allowed the vehicle to be used as a truck chassis. In the succeeding years, many more major and minor design revisions were made to make the Ford Econoline Van more powerful and more refined.

Today, there are a variety of Ford Econoline Vans, now called the Ford E-Series, being sold by Ford dealers in the US. The vans actually come in two basic varieties: E-150 and E-350. Both are available in wagon body styles or in chateau body styles. Wagons come in XL and XLT trims and come in either regular length or extended length. Engine options include a 4.6 liter V8 engine, a 5.4 liter V8 engine, a 6.0 liter V8 engine and a 6.8 liter V10 engine. All are equipped with standard 4-speed automatic transmission units.
