When talking about automobiles, the Ford Motor Company should not be left behind. Ford has been one the most renowned automobile makers in the world. It has successfully manufactured and marketed several top of the line models, and lots of significant models that made the company among the top and leading car manufacturers around the globe. One of the exciting models that the Ford Company has manufactured is the Ford Bronco II.

The Ford Bronco II is a compact SUV that was produced by the company from 1984 until 1990. It is a smaller version of the famous Ford Bronco which was produced for three decades starting 1966. The Bronco II was Ford's competing product against Chevrolet's S-10 Blazer and Jeep's Cherokee. Mechanically, it was akin to the Ford Ranger pickup, but features a 94-inch wheelbase and is enclosed in the rear.

Bronco II units that were produced in the first two years sported 2.8-liter V6 engine, and for the subsequent year, a 2.9-liter EFI V6 engine was introduced. However, because of some problems faced by the newly introduced engine assembly, some adjustments and redesign was made in 1989. Furthermore, Bronco II was becoming unattractive to potential buyers that is why a major redesign was executed in 1991 resulting to the creation of the Ford Explorer that feature a wider and longer wheelbase.

Notwithstanding the negative impressions that were built on Bronco II, it has nevertheless proved its worth as a Ford product. It was still considered by some car enthusiasts as a good catch because of its relatively cheap price for a solid compact Sport Utility Vehicle. Moreover, since the Bronco II is apparently a resemblance of the Ford Ranger, it added appeal to potential buyers thinking that it can also be easy to work on as well.

With total front end redesign, 1989 and 1990 Bronco II units were produced. Such change made the Bronco II units look similarly with F-Series trucks and the full-sized original Bronco. They feature the Dana 35 front axle as a replacement of the inferior quality Dana 28. Since owning Ford Bronco II vehicles is considered as pride by Bronco II owners, it is but necessary that you maintain its showroom condition.
