The Eagle Talon is a sports coupe manufactured and sold by Chrysler from 1990 to 1998. It is mechanically identical to the Mitsubishi Eclipse and the Plymouth Laser, although the Plymouth Laser lasted only for one generation. These cars were manufactured jointly by Chrysler and Mitsubishi under what was formally known then as the Diamond Star Motors (DSM).

Upon introduction, the Eagle Talon was sold in base, TSi and TSi AWD trims. The base trim was equipped with a 2.0 liter 135 hp 4-cylinder engine while the other two trims were equipped with a turbocharged and intercooled version of the said engine. All trims came standard with a 5-speed manual transmission unit while a 4-speed automatic shift was available for the base trim. The automatic shift also became available to the turbocharged versions after a year.

The Eagle Talon received a major redesign in 1994 while its twin, the Plymouth Laser, was dropped in that same year. With fresh styling and more powerful engines, the second generation Eagle Talon was introduced under three trim levels: the base ESi, TSi and TSi AWD. A 2.0 liter 140 hp 4-cylinder engine was standard on the base trim while a turbocharged version of the same engine that produced 210 hp was standard on the TSi and TSi AWD.

For its first generation, the Eagle Talon was the easy favorite among sports coupe. It provides drivers with an unmatched power and capability. When it became more stylish and more powerful in 1995, more buyers became attracted to it. Other manufacturers, however, were fast to follow suit, and the popularity that once belonged solely to the Eagle Talon was then shared by its competitors.
