Eagle is a short lived division of the Chrysler company whose cars were manufactured and marketed from 1987 to 1998. The name was taken from the AMC Eagle after Chrysler purchased the American Motors in 1987. The early Eagle vehicles like the Premier were designed by the original AMC and Renault crew while later models like the Summit were designed by Mitsubishi.
In its entire history under the Chrysler company, there have only been a few Eagle cars manufactured. Among the car models under the Eagle brand are the Premier, Medallion, Summit, Talon and Vision. All of these car models, however, are just badge-engineered products and looks very similar to their other Chrysler counterparts under the Dodge, Plymouth and Mitsubishi brand names. Among the models, only the Talon ever outsold its clones. Eagle was officially dropped by Chrysler in 1998 because of poor sales due to poor product recognition.
