If you’ll browse the net, you’ll get very few information about the Dodge Lancer. I don’t even know if anyone today still drives the Dodge Lancer. But you being here in this page prove that there are still Dodge Lancer owners today who actively drive their car, or probably want to drive their car. One thing’s sure though; that your Dodge Lancer is old and it would need a heck of a restoration job.
The Dodge Lancer name was used by Chrysler twice for two different cars manufactured at two different time frames. The first Dodge Lancer was introduced in 1960. It was a perfect clone of the Dodge Valiant and was last manufactured in 1962. In 1963, the Dodge Lancer was replaced by the Dodge Dart.
In the 1980’s, the Dodge Lancer was re-introduced by Chrysler and this time, it is a mid-size car. It has a body similar to the Chrysler LeBaron GTS and used the Chrysler K platform. The last Dodge Lancer for this period rolled off the assembly line on 1989.
Both Dodge Lancers share a single positive characteristic: reliability. The car may not be the high performance car that everybody wants to have, not even during its time, but its roomy interiors and adequate performance can comfortably bring you from one place to another without any problems. Although not fully equipped, it has a relatively comfortable interior that most of its owners enjoy. It also gives you a power unexpected from a 4-cylinder engine, although this power can’t still match the power given by current V6 or V8 engines. But for a car that is old and outdated, the Dodge Lancer is basically good.
A car from the 60s, no matter how good it is, definitely needs a whole lot of restoration. Here at Parts Train, you can find a lot of high quality Dodge Lancer parts, both for the 60s and 80s models, which you can use to properly restore or repair your Dodge Lancer.
