One of the well-known brands of vehicles is Dodge. This company was established by the two brothers John Francis Dodge and Horace Elgin Dodge, hence they named their company as Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company. This car maker was officially started in 1914 and existed as an independent car maker until 1927 because in 1928 they were bought out by Chrysler Corporation. Dodge then became a part of the DaimlerChrsyler Company.

Before the take over of the Dodge fell through, Chrysler founded the Desoto, so by the time they had Dodge under their hands, they had two mid-priced makes to be released in the market. The first batch of the Dodge Desoto was produced from 1929 until 1942. By 1946 another batch of this vehicle was released to the market and this lasted until 1960.

The Desoto also made it well in the market, tying-up with Dodge’s sales in 1932 of about 25,000 units. In 1934 the Dodge was furnished with an Airflow body in order to give it a more streamlined appearance and have lesser air resistance when driving in great speed. The shorter wheelbase provided for the Desoto was a big drawback for them because the customers did not like it much. Because of this they furnished the Desoto with a much better body in the form of the Airstream design. Through this design the Desoto is given a more solid build and conservative style.

You will be attracted by this car by just looking at its appearance. It has a refined grille and its headlights are attractively slanted. It also had a contoured body that adds more to its stylishness. As a middle-priced car this model is equipped with a quite comfortable interior that will carry you throughout your journey.

Due to several factors, the Desoto lost its appeal in the market in the 1950s. Its failure can be attributed to corporate mistakes and some other factors that are beyond the control of the manufacturer. At present there are still some models of this type that can be seen, but they are mostly being put up for sale as used cars. A lot of them already require a major make-over in order to bring back its former looks. Those who own this vintage car needs a partner whom they can rely on when it comes to high quality replacement and aftermarket parts. Parts Train is the most dependable online provider for various Dodge Desoto parts.
