Do you know what a K-Car is? If you are an owner of a Dodge 400, then you have the perfect example of a K-Car. K-Car refers to the vehicle platform used by the Chrysler Corporation for their cars manufactured during the 1980s. Other cars that used the K-Car platform aside from the Dodge 400 include the Chrysler LeBaron, Plymouth Reliant and Dodge Aries.

The Dodge 400 is a K-Car sold by the Chrysler Corporation from 1982 to 1986. The car came in three basic body styles: 2-door convertible, 2-door coupe, and 4-door sedan. All are equipped with a 2.6 liter 4-cylinder engine that outputs a power of 93 hp. The engine requires gasoline as its fuel.

The Chrysler Corporation created many other cars patterned after the K-Car platform. This may be one of the reasons why the Dodge 400 has not gained much popularity. Before the Dodge 400, a car with a similar platform came as the Dodge Aries. A year later after the Dodge 400, the Dodge 600 was introduced, which also uses the same platform used by the 400. Too many cars that look much like each other must have created confusion, leading to failure for most of these models, including the Dodge 400.

Just like any other car whose production period has long been ended, it would be difficult to find parts for your Dodge 400.
