Dodge motors was established by two brothers John Francis Dodge and Horace Elgin Dodge back in 1901. They named their company Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company and began developing motor trucks for the army because it was then the era of World War I. After the war they also began producing cars to be sold commercially. In July 31, 1928 Chrysler Corporation bought Dodge Company. After the takeover various models were produced by Dodge under Chrysler’s tutelage. Some of the models under Doge name are Caravan, Dakota, Durango, Magnum, Avenger and a lot more.
