One of the American automobile companies that are known for developing high quality cars is the Chrysler Corporation. This Corporation was established by Walter Percy Chrysler on June 6, 1925. It existed as an independent company from 1925 until 1998 when it was purchased by Daimler-Benz. Labeled as the Chrysler group, they created the full-size car Chrysler Windsor from 1940’s, 1950 and 1960’s. A full-size car is one type of vehicle that is bigger than a mid-size car that sits on a wheelbase of more than 2.79 meters or with an interior volume of more than 120 cubic feet.

The Chrysler Windsor released in the 1940’s was a convertible type. This kind of design was fairly new at the time it was released which made it all the more attractive to the people. In 1953 the Chrysler Corporation once again put to market a new batch of the Windsor. The new release was still a rear wheel drive with the engine situated in front. Unlike the previous model, a V8 engine powers up the Chrysler Windsor. With a 230 bhp and torque of 310 ft-lbs, it provides enough acceleration and road grip for a secure ride. In terms of transmission, it now makes use of 3-speed automatic transmission that is very beneficial for easy handling of the car. The new model can seat up 5 persons with still enough head and leg room left. The final batch of the Chrysler Windsor was released in 1961 and in the following year 1962, they replaced the Windsor with a new non-lettered series which is the Chrysler 300.
