The Chrysler Intrepid, as sold in Canada (Dodge Intrepid in other markets) is a mid-size sedan that is based on the LH body platform. From the LH automobile lineup, the Chrysler Intrepid has a front-wheel drive layout and features a cab-forward design. For over 10 years of production, the Chrysler Intrepid was divided into two generation with the first generation being introduced in 1993 and was produced until 1997, and the second generation being launched in 1998 and lasted until 2004. The LH automobiles including the Chrysler Intrepid was discontinued in 2005 with the coming of the LX body platform automobile.

In 1998, the second generation Chrysler Intrepid displayed a smaller yet powerful powerplants with the base trim engine being changed to 2.7 liter V6 that can produce 200 horsepower matched with 4-speed automatic transmission. The sportier ES trim’s engine on the other hand was changed to 3.2 liter V6 to boost 225 horsepower matched with Autostick transmission unit for manual or automatic preferences.
Despite the Chrysler Intrepid’s impressive performance and modifications particularly after its major redesign, its popularity did not last that long because of its rivals doing double time to surpass whatever the Intrepid has to put forward.
