Chrysler started as an independent car manufacturer when it was founded in 1925 until 1998 when it was merged with the Daimler-Benz Corporation to form the DaimlerChrysler Corporation. Chrysler automobiles have been commended for its premium engineering and innovative features, not to mention the power and performance already expected of it. Modern Chrysler models include PT Cruiser, Sebring, 300, Pacifica and Town & Country. However, in 1993, there was another model that was introduced and has successfully made an impact in the automobile industry in the name Chrysler Concord.

The Concord or better known as Concorde, is a typical full-size, 4-door, front wheel drive sedan that was designed to replace the discontinued Chrysler Fifth Avenue. Such automobile was Car and Driver magazine’s one of the Ten Best list for two consecutive years. Some basic yet strong features for it are the refined contour design and a room that can hold up to six-passenger seating configuration. If you liked Lamborghini Portfolio’s “cab-forward” design then you might as well love it being embedded in Chrysler’s Concord. Such design is portrayed by a long, low-slung windshield and quite short projections.

The Concorde era was divided into two generations, with the first being produced from 1993 until 1997, and the second being produced from 1998 through 2004. The first generation Concorde was launched at the 1992 North American International Auto Show as a 1993 model. Such Concordes were equipped with a powerplant of either 3.3-liter EGA V6 or 3.5-liter EGJ V6 engines, and a transmission of 4-speed 42LE automatic. The second generation Concorde on the hand was introduced in 1998 bearing an all-new design. Available powerplants for it included a 2.7-liter EER V6, 3.2-liter V6 and 3.5-liter EGJ V6 engines.

For 2002, the Concorde Limited trim was launched featuring a 4 inches longer wheelbase than the standard Concorde. It was designed to take the place of the almost indistinguishable Chrysler LHS. However, with the return of the modern Chrysler 300, Concorde was discontinued by the year 2004.
