The first among Chrysler's new front-drive vehicles, the Cirrus came in 1995 with a very attractive and original design. It is a midsize four-door sedan based on Chrysler's JA platform. Cirrus received the Motor Trend magazine's Car of the Year award for 1995 and together with other JA cars, it was included on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best List for 1996 and 1997. It is produced to replace the long-lived LeBaron and to compete with the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Ford Taurus.
