Impala just keeps on getting even better with each model year and that's the reason why it has been the favorite of many car enthusiasts and aficionados. It initially came in the early to mid fifties as a prototype automobile based on Chevrolet Corvette. Currently, Impala is available in three models – the Impala sedan, the Impala LS and the Impala SS. These models are all equipped with AM/FM/cassette stereo, front and rear anti-roll bars, air conditioning with separate controls for driver and passenger, power locks, windows and mirrors, remote keyless entry, stainless steel exhaust, tit steering, four-wheel disc brakes, automatic transmission, P225/60R16 tires and rear window defogger.
Impala sedan has the finest highway fuel economy among any other cars in its class while the LS comes well-appointed. LS received lots of additional standard features such as a sport touring suspension, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, traction control, cruise control, bucket seat with a center console, a tire-pressure gauge, fog lamps, rear deck-lid spoiler anti-lock brakes (ABS), a six-way power driver's seat and aluminum wheels.
The high-performance Impala SS comes more powerful with its supercharged 3800 V6 engine generating 240-horsepower; a performance suspension, a heavy-duty automatic transmission and P235/55WR17 tires. Leather seats, graphite interior appointments and lots of extraordinary features were also added. Outside the SS models, you'll notice a lowered front fascia, with integral fog lights, dual stainless exhaust tips, a sporty airfoil situated on the rear deck lid and distinct "diamond-cut" wheels. Compared to other Impalas, SS models are outfitted with wider tires as well as lower and firmer sidewalls.
Chevrolet Impala puts the thrill back in every driving experience. Its supercharged engine delivers silent but strong performance and the other Impala engines, though small, yields decent acceleration. The automatic transmission performs excellently and the shifts were hardly noticeable. Impala isn't only about comfort and performance. It is also concern with you and your passenger's safety. In fact, the Federal government gave it a five-star rating in both front and side impacts. It is packed with standard dual-stage driver and front-passenger airbags; battery run-down protection; lock-out protection feature; and optional driver's seat-mounted side-impact air bag. The car's side-impact protection was further improved with the high-strength steel side pillars.
