First released in 1953, the Chevrolet Corvette was the first all-American sports car created by an American auto manufacturer. It is still exclusively built today at the General Motors assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The C4 Corvette joined the list from 1985 through 1989 model years and the C5 was included in 1998, 1999 and 2002 to 2004. The new C6 also made it to that list and was considered for the North American Car of the Year award for 2005.
