In 1965, Cadillac's entry-level Series 62 had changed its name to Calais, after the name of a French resort town. It was then offered in a 2 and 4-door hard top editions and a "formal-roof" 4-door sedan. This 4-four door sedan was a hybrid version featuring frameless, hardtop-like windows with a post in between. Calais vehicle line-up has no convertible model, thus epitomizing the slightly more expensive and well-appointed Cadillac Deville series.
