This car was sold in 1977 together with the BMW 2500. Both the 2800 and the 2500 were referred to as the Bavaria the only difference they have is that they both different in the engine they use.

The BMW 2800 produced from 1969 until 1975 is equipped with a 2.8L 6-cylinder inline engine which is able to produce more power than the BMW 2500. Its solid valve lifters and SOHC valve train helps in producing 192 horsepower at 6000 rpm. Good road traction is made possible through the 174 ft-lbs torque generated. With these figures there is just adequate balance in the speed and manageability of the car. The driver is also provided with easy gear shifting by offering him a choice of a 4-speed manual transmission or a ZF 3-speed manual automatic. If there is great speed, a highly efficient braking system should also be present. The slowing and stopping power of the BMW 2800 comes from the disc brakes for the front wheels and drum brakes for the rear wheels. Assisting these braking systems are high quality calipers, pads and discs.

Appearance-wise the 2800 is also pleasing to the eyes. Its design is not so imposing with its smoothly flowing contours. In terms of the interior, leather upholstery dominates the car’s furnishings. This 4-seater sedan’s interior is very inviting and cozy, ensuring user comfort throughout the drive. Its hi-tech devices include an electric rear window defroster and upgraded interior trim.
