The Acura El is a car that has the body style of a 4-door sedan. As a sedan, it is mainly a passenger type of car that features a separate hood for the engine and a trunk compartment mainly for the cargo or luggage. The Acura EL was developed by Honda in 1997 as a compact luxury car mainly for the Canadian market. The EL was manufactured in Honda’s Canadian plant in Alliston, Ontario.
From its first release in 1997, the Acura El has undergone a lot of redesigning. It was in 2001 that the El underwent a major overhaul in design. This was again upgraded in 2003 when new antilock brakes with electronic brake distribution were added in the design. A new console design with center arm rest as well as an illuminated gauge was incorporated in the new EL. Front seats and head rests were also refurbished for more comfort. In terms of capacity this car can accommodate 5 passengers with ample leg-room left. Aside from the ample space for passengers, enough space is provided because of the split folding rear seats.
The 2005 Acura El shares almost the same features with that of the previous models. The standard transmission is a 5-speed manual.
