Audi vehicles are known for their excellent craftsmanship that perfectly speaks about Audi company itself. Its roots include Germany's foremost and oldest automobile manufacturers, giving you the idea how dependable Audi is. August Horch, its founder established the company in 1899, then named after him and developed his first car in 1901 in Eastern Germany. It had a horizontal engine, called by Horch as an “impact-free” engine, capable of absorbing vibrations of the crankshaft. It featured an alloy crankcase, the first of its kind in the auto industry.
However, because of a dispute, Horch was forced to leave the company he founded and formed a new one, which he named Audi, the Latin translation of Horch. Under the new company, Horch started producing 2612 cc models and later on produced four cylinder 3564 cc, 4680 cc and 5720 cc vehicles. Compared to other cars of its time, these Audi vehicles can be considered as luxurious, having exceptional bodywork and equipped with durable and heavy duty components. When it comes to performance, they are as excellent as their exterior features. Audi cars were highlights of many sporting events in the history of cars.
The Audi 100 model belonged to Audi's rounded midsize premium sedan series and was made between 1968 and 1994. This car was excellently designed, bringing Audi into tight a competition with other upper mid-size car manufacturers. Soon, the Audi 100 became a best-selling vehicle and laid the basis for the modern Audi models. In 1992, a redesigned Audi 100 was introduced in the market. It sported a rounded body styling yet its dimensions were closely similar to the old Audi model. Its power source was upgraded to a V6, matched with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The model line up includes Audi 100, Audi !00 S and the Audi 100 CS.
