There are parts in a vehicle that are expected to incur a lot of damages. There are also parts that are not expected to incur much or any damage. For the windshield wiper system of your Chevrolet, the parts that are expected to incur a lot of damages are the windshield wiper blades and the windshield wiper motor. The motor is expected to die out through constant use while the blades are expected to get torn apart through constant contact with the windshield and other things in it. The Chevrolet windshield wiper arm, however, is not expected to get much damage. And if they do get damaged, it would usually imply that the vehicle owner is careless.

The windshield wiper arm is the mechanical component that links or connects the windshield wiper blades to the windshield wiper motor that controls them. Most automobiles, and that includes Chevrolet vehicles, are equipped with two synchronized radial type of windshield wiper arms, differentiated from the pantograph windshield wiper arms that most trucks are equipped with. These radial wiper arms direct the blade to wipe the windshield in a radial manner. Without the windshield wiper arm, the entire windshield wiper system is virtually useless.

Chevrolet windshield wiper arms are not expected to get damaged easily because they do not come in contact with other vehicle parts aside from the windshield wiper blades and motor. Further, Chevrolet windshield wiper arms are expected to be made only from materials of premium quality and superior rigidity and durability. As such, it really requires real carelessness for the windshield wiper arm to get broken.

But if your Chevrolet's windshield wiper arm gets broken or damaged, there is nothing much you can do but replace them with new ones. It is highly dangerous for you to drive your Chevy without the wiper arms on, especially on bad weather. Further, it is illegal to drive a vehicle with damaged or without windshield wipers.
