The laminated glass used for the windshield does not crack and breaks into pieces but it shatters or cracks upon impact but remains together so it produces a “spider web” cracking on the glass pane as long as a sharp object does not pierce the glass pane. The interlayer made of a Polyvinyl butyral (or PVB) holds the glass between 2 or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the glass bonded together. The laminated safety glass is attached with an automotive grade urethane which is primarily chosen for automobiles. Then the windshield is glued to the window frame.
