While replacing your Infiniti windshield by yourself can save you a load of money in labor fees, it’s important to know exactly what you’re doing before you start.  The job cannot be rushed and must be done carefully.  The windshield’s entire integrity can be compromised by a botched installation job.  An imperfect seal may seem like it’s no big deal, but it can result in a catastrophe if it ends up falling in on you as you’re driving down a busy highway.  Remove all of the old sealant and use cleaners and rags to really scrub off any left over adhesive.  Leave about 1/16th of an inch of bonding on the vehicle.  Clean and prime the windshield and vehicle pitch-weld.  Let everything dry thoroughly.  Once dry, use an urethane adhesive to install the windshield.  Make sure you check how long this adhesive needs to set before driving the vehicle again.
