Driving with a cracked or pinged Buick windshield is dangerous and unlawful.  Even if your windshield only has a minor nick in it, if you don’t act fast to replace it, the damage will spread.  What typically starts out as a small ping can either web out and consume your entire windshield or send a crack from one side of the windshield to the other.  If you decide to replace your own windshield, be prepared for a lot of work.  You can’t just slap the new windshield on and expect it to be ready.  You have to remove the old sealant completely.  Make sure you leave about 1/16th inch of bonding surface.  Clean and prime the new glass and the vehicle pinch-weld.  It’s a good idea to wear a pair of gloves to avoid contaminating the glass.   Urethane is the only adhesive that should be used for this job.  Make sure you wait the recommended amount of time for the adhesive to dry before driving your vehicle again.
