The automobile engine is able to function because of the heat energy released from the combustion of fossil fuel such as gasoline or diesel. However, this heat energy should be maintained within an ideal range to ensure the optimal function of the engine. Exceeding the ideal temperature range will result in the expansion and deterioration of engine parts. For instance, overheating may cause deformities in the pistons, thereby impeding their motion. Overheating will also cause the catastrophic pressure buildup in the combustion chambers which could lead to explosion. On the other hand, if the temperature falls below the ideal range, the engine will shutdown because of lack of gas pressure inside the combustion chambers. The delicate balance of temperature is maintained by the automobile cooling system. In Rolls Royce automobiles, the Rolls Royce water pump is the heart of the its cooling system. Indeed, the water pump is analogous to the heart because of its function of pumping fluid to be circulated throughout the system.

Typically, the Rolls Royce water pump is a simple centrifugal pump that has vanes. Its power is derived from the camshaft. The water pump usually does not have a motor of its own. Rather, it is dependent on the rotation of the camshaft. It is connected to the camshaft via a rubber belt. The water pump sucks water coolant from the engine block and sends it to the radiator. The radiator has series of tubes and grilles designed to maximize the surface area for the effective dissipation of heat. A motorized fan blows air on the surface of the radiator to allow the faster radiation of heat from the water coolant. The water coolant then circulates back to the engine block. This process is regulated by a mechanical or electronic thermostat. When the temperature of the water coolant being pumped by the water pump falls below the ideal range, the thermostat automatically closes the valve to stop the flow of the coolant.

On the other hand, if the temperature again starts to rise above the ideal range, the thermostat then opens the control valve to allow the circulation of the coolant. Although the water pump is dependent on the rotation of the camshaft, it also has a thermostat that disengages or re-engages its clutch from the camshaft whenever the temperature drops or rises above the ideal range.

Here at Parts Train we offer a wide selection of water pumps of different brands. The water pumps that we offer are at par and even exceed the quality standards of original water pumps.
