Ferrari Water Pump |
| As you may already know, your Ferrari water pump is one of the most important
parts of your engine. The water pump circulates coolant through the engine block,
heads, and radiator keeping it cool. If your water pump isn’t functioning properly,
the coolant won’t be able to circulate and will boil in the engine jacket. This
causes the engine to over heat and break down. There are three main reasons for
water pump failure. Leaking shaft seals is the most common reason water pumps
break. If you suspect leaky shaft seals, check for a coolant stain around your
vent area. This is a sure sign of leaking shaft seals. Noisy shaft seals are
the second reason for water pump failure. Regular oxidation of the lubricant
and normal wear can cause your bearings to fail. An unsupported fan may also
ruin your bearings. The third common cause of water pump failure is a slipping
impeller on the water pump shaft. This most commonly occurs on remanufactured
water pumps. |
