Honda has always been the model for Japanese refinement. Ever since the company entered the American automobile scene, they have been well praised for the quality that their vehicles display. Not only are Honda vehicles powerful, stylish, and luxurious, they also run smoothly, making each Honda passenger feel comfortable with a comfort more than its interior amenities can give. The refinement of the Honda engines definitely has something to do with this, and so does its other parts including the Honda suspension.

A vehicle’s suspension is a system of springs and linkages that attaches the vehicle’s frame to the wheels. Before, the only function of the vehicle’s suspension is to keep the vehicle’s wheel on the ground so that it can provide traction. Today, however, vehicle suspensions are also designed to control the vehicle’s ride quality and handling. It keeps the vehicle passengers comfortable by shielding them from all the bumps, noise, and vibrations.

Generally, there are two types of suspension systems: the dependent suspension and the independent suspension. In a dependent suspension system, the camber of one wheel directly affects the camber of the opposite wheel. This is because a live axle holds the opposite wheels. The opposite, on the other hand, is true for the independent suspension system. In an independent suspension system, the wheels are not connected. Rather, the wheels are connected through universal joints with a swing axle. Yet, another type of suspension system exists in the semi-independent suspension system. In this type of system, a swing axle is also used, but a tube connects the two opposite wheels rather than being connected through universal joints.

Honda suspensions for different Honda vehicles greatly vary, usually dependent on the year model of the Honda vehicle. Newer Honda vehicles definitely use a different type of suspension than the older models. So if you need to replace your Honda suspensions, make sure that you’re getting the right one for your vehicle. Here at Parts Train, we have all types of Honda suspensions listed by year models so you can easily find the right one for your car.
