When you are driving your Audi vehicle and you go through a bump on the road, does your car continuously bounce as you continue to drive? That’s what you call oscillation, or simply put, the up and down movement that’s more likely to happen if you have bad or defective shocks. Shocks, otherwise known as shock absorbers are typically installed on cars and light trucks that feature standard suspension systems. Shocks can also be employed on the rear of some vehicles. Shocks typically provide resistance by forcing hydraulic fluid through the valves that are located in the piston as they do the up and down movement. Since the oil can’t be compressed, only a small amount of fluid can be pushed through the valves, creating resistance to the movement of the vehicle especially on uneven terrain.

In simple words, the kinetic energy of the spring movement is converted by the shocks into heat. The main function of the shocks in your Audi vehicle is to dampen the movement of the springs as they compress and rebound while you are traveling. Without the Audi shocks, your vehicle surely continue to bounce, making it hard to control. Audi shock absorbers also affect handling and vehicle control. In practical application, shocks maintain greatest possible tire patch contact to the street as the car goes on corners and negotiates road irregularities.

Having shock absorbers is always a good thing – they don’t just give a smooth ride, but also keep the vehicle controllable and convenient after a bump. Premium shocks are preferable than regular hydraulic shocks since air in the shock is usually replaced by pressurized nitrogen gas. This way, bubbles are prevented from building up in the hydraulic fluid. Foaming, or building up of bubbles can reduce the shock’s ability to deliver resistance and avert bounce. Also, gas shocks speed up the response of a shock movement. It thus, increases vehicle comfort and control.

Bad or defective shocks aren’t jus uncomfortable, they are also dangerous. Good thing, there are replacement Audi shocks that can help you restore the ride and handling of your Audi car. Don’t compromise vehicle comfort, get replacement Audi shocks here at Parts Train.
