In the front end of your vehicle lies the copper or aluminum cooling device that makes sure the engine does not overheat. The radiator is the cooling device that is covered and protected by the hood. The radiator support, sometimes called the radiator core support, can come as an assembly with several separate parts such as radiator support upper (upper tie bar), radiator support RH and LH (side support panel), radiator support center (hood latch support) and the radiator support lower (lower crossmember). It can also come as separate pieces depending on the part that you need. The radiator support connects the mudguard skirts at their front edge and is where the header panel, headlamps and fenders are mounted to.

The new radiator support was smaller and lighter making it cheaper to develop. The reduced size allowed more space in the engine compartment.
