Simultaneously, the heater core works which helps to cool the engine by transferring the heat towards the interior of the car. The water that comes out of the radiator is cooler and is ready to start the process again and this cycle continues as long as the car is running.

And that can be done by checking the radiator regularly; making sure it is filled with water and always has spare water to put to your radiator, especially for long trips.
