Acura RL Radiators |
During the normal process of combustion, the engine produces as much as 6,000 degree F of heat. However, the engine only needs about 2,000 degrees F of heat in order to go about its normal operation. The remaining heat energy ends up as a waste energy. But do you know that this excess amount of heat energy can pose a serious threat to your engine components? It can lead to engine overheating and other related problems if this is not removed.
To address the problem of overheating, your Acura RL has been equipped with a cooling system to dispel as much as 1/3 of heat from the engine component. It is made out of a number of sub components, and one of these is the Acura RL radiator. This cooling system component is a type of heat exchanger that has been intended to transfer heat energy from one medium to another.
You can usually see the Acura RL radiator located between the cylinder head and the engine, linking itself to a series of channels. It is also made up of vertical and horizontal finned tubing sections that are directly connected to the dispensing tank. You Acura RL radiator cool the engine by providing a large area for the large amount of hot coolant to pass through and mix with outside air in order to lose its heat in the process of circulating through the tubes. It then goes back to the engine to continue absorbing heat.
The materials used in the making of your Acura RL radiator can either be aluminum or copper, or brass. However, these are vulnerable to electrolytic corrosion since they are highly reactive metals. You can prevent this from happening by keeping the corrosion inhibitors from settling on the metal parts of your radiator. One way of doing so is by changing your engine coolant after every 2 years or between 24,000-30,000 miles of driving.
