Cadillac Projector Headlights |
Each time you look at your Cadillac up front, there are certain things and components that your eyes will never miss. You surely wouldn't miss the hood and the windshield, simply because they are the two largest components on the front side of your vehicle. Then, who will fail to notice the vehicle's elegant grille holding the equally elegant Cadillac logo. Deep at night, however, the elegance of all these parts will be outshone by the cluster of forward lights installed on the edges of your Cadillac's front fascia, the most dominant of which are the Cadillac headlights.
Because of their visibility at night, Cadillac headlights were endowed with a twofold function: to serve as major styling elements for the vehicle's front fascia, and to serve as important safety components. The intricateness of the Cadillac headlight's design serves the first function well. And they do not come short on the second, either. Stock Cadillac headlights have the ability to emit both high beam and low beam lights, making them adaptive to all sorts of night driving conditions.
Stock Cadillac headlights, however, are just that—stock headlights. And for many custom and performance vehicle enthusiasts, these headlights are simply not enough. For them, there can still be something more elegant and more functional than the stock Cadillac headlights. And they have found this something in Cadillac projector headlights.
Just like ordinary headlights, Cadillac projector headlights are also made of three basic components: headlight lenses, reflectors, and headlight bulbs or filaments. Details about these parts, however, make projector headlights quite different… and quite better. Instead of ordinary lenses, projector headlights are equipped with condenser lenses that can further intensify the light. Projector headlights also make use of either elliptical or spherical reflectors to focus the light better. One last detail about projector headlights is the use of a shutter between the reflector and the lens. This shutter provides the low-beam cut-off and can usually be adjusted to provide for high-beam needs.
