There are a lot of different kinds of auto lights installed all over our vehicles and sometimes we no longer know what they are made for. The purpose of the headlights, turn signals, brake lights, tail lights and fog lights are of course known to us, yet there are still auto lights whose functions we might not be able to figure out. One of these auto lights with a confusing purpose is the parking lights.
The parking lights are the low beam lights installed at the front left and right ends of your vehicle often integrated with the headlights but sometimes installed near it or at the bumpers. Some vehicles are also equipped with parking lights installed at its rear or tail end. Parking lights are designed to light up or mark the vehicle when it is parked. Most front parking lights are always turned on while some other parking lights have switches that allow you to turn them off. The rear parking lights, on the other hand, are often used only as markers.
"But what is the use of parking lights?", some of us would ask. Isn't its function just the same as the side marker lights? In parking your vehicle at the sides of small streets and in parking areas, the importance of the parking lights may not be apparent. But when you park your vehicle on highways, the parking lights are clearly needed to make your vehicle clearly visible from other vehicle's windshields. Further, the parking lights also serve as emergency low beam lights in case the headlamps fail. If your not convinced yet about its importance, let's just say that some States and communities require that parking lights be installed in your vehicle.
While some people think that parking lights are no longer necessary in vehicles, Toyota thinks otherwise. The fourth largest auto manufacturing company in America just doesn't want to compromise the safety of their buyers, that's why they've equipped their vehicles with Toyota parking lights. While the parking lights are apparently of less use today because many vehicles are now equipped with side marker lights and daytime running lights, Toyota still believes that even the smallest components like Toyota parking lamps can make your vehicle a lot safer. Aside from these, Toyota just wants to comply with the various States' rules and regulations.
So, have the parking lights of your Toyota failed? Replace it at once with new ones and keep your Toyota safer.
