You can save a lot of money on labor fees by replacing a leaky Honda oil pan by yourself.  The job itself is a relatively easy one; however, it must be done carefully.  The most common mistake people make when they’re installing a new oil pan is over tightening the gaskets.  By over tightening the gaskets, you’re crushing them and pushing the front cover and oil pan inward and around the bolt holes.  The result of excessive tightening of the gaskets is a worse oil leak than the one you’re trying to fix.  The oil pan is located underneath the crankcase.  It is constructed from a thin piece of steel and works as an oil reservoir.  It also works as a host to the oil drain plug and oil pump.  After you turn off your engine, oil flows down the crankcase and collects in the oil pan where it is constantly swished around as you drive.  Because of this constant swishing, you’ll discover an oil leak from the oil pan before you’ll find it anywhere else.
