A machine normally uses lubricant to minimize the friction produced during the operation, and smoothen its function. In an automobile, almost every auto part is dependent on it. Oil, as to the engine is actually dubbed as “lifeblood”. No power will be generated without it, no matter how much fuel is injected. Serious engine damage which could actually affect other vital parts will be the result, instead of satisfying performance.

In order to ensure adequate supply of oil for the engine system, an oil pan is installed. It’s a removable container bolted to the bottom of the crankcase which holds the engine oil. An oil pan is a reservoir usually made from thin metal shaped into a deeper section. It houses the oil pump which leads the oil towards the rocker arms. At the bottom of the oil pan is a drain plug made with magnet. This one works to collect metal fragments from the oil which flowed along with the lubricant.

The engine oil of a Ford is circulated within the engine through a cycle. It will be taken out of the Ford oil pan by the use of an oil pump, forcing it to get through a filter. From the filter, it is directed to the crankshaft passage, and then to the connecting rods and pistons until it reaches the rings. At this point, oil is pushed by the lifters and pushrods in order to lubricate the rocker arms. Upon completion of that process, the engine oil will flow back to the oil pan.

Do you need new Ford oil pan to replace the stock one? Today, lots of aftermarket auto part makers market different kinds of oil pans. There are actually high performing oil pans that work best even with aggressive driving. These oil pans feature trap doors and baffles that control oil during aggressive driving, keeping them close to the pan for efficient lubrication. Perhaps such kind of oil pan is what you need for your Ford. But whichever you need, Partstrain have them all for you.
