Lincoln intake manifold is a mechanism that conducts the fuel mixture from the throttle body to the valve ports. It does a very basic yet significant function and that is to take the air as it gets in the engine and leads it via intake passages into the runner ports located in the cylinder heads. The air that enters the engine is mixed with fuel to significantly produce power during the combustion process. There are two primary types of intake manifolds – the single plane and the dual plane intake manifold. Dual plane intake manifold performs best in an engine designed to produce lots of torque under low RPM.

On the other hand, the single-plane intake manifold features a large area under the carburetor dubbed as plenum. It draws air from all four barrels and gives out the air and fuel to all the cylinders. This type of intake manifold is aimed for high RPM applications.
