Misaligned hood hinge gear teeth, on the other hand, may manifest itself by a buckled hood or worst, by a hood that flies up while you are driving, which can be extremely dangerous and may cause major driving accidents.

A rattling hood hinge may be easily remedied by re-adjusting the hood hinge bolt or by installing a spring washer. Slightly misaligned hood hinges, on the other hand, may be repaired easily. Sometimes, lubricating the moving parts of the hood hinge may solve this and other hood hinge problems. Major hood hinge damages and deterioration, however, may not be solved by any repair job. For such cases, you'll surely need to replace the stock hinge with a new one.
