GMC fog lights can be installed in all GMC vehicles, they are usually found though on trucks and SUV’s where the driver is seated high but some have been known to install them to their sporty cars. GMC fog lights are installed on the bumper in the front just below the headlights. They are intended to provide a bright back up lights which beams to the front and somewhat to the sides of the GMC vehicle. They provide lights that are not pointed upwards such as the high beam so as to not blind the oncoming traffic which may result to a collision. Some GMC vehicles come with GMC fog lights while some don’t. Adding these auxiliary lights is a breeze though. Switches are not found usually with the other light controls near the steering wheel but in a different switch sine fog lights are not normally used all the time.

When a GMC fog light ceases to operate normally, it’s usually a problem with the bulb. Sitting as low as they do on the bumper invites trouble, and a hit from a stone can sometimes break the delicate GMC fog light bulb without causing any visible damage to the lens itself. So as with any electrical problem, check your bulbs, fuses, and switch, and you’ll likely find your GMC fog light problem in one of those places. It would be wise to have a damaged GMC fog light fixed and replaced right away; you never know when the time may arise when you may need it.
