The cooling system in your vehicle is essential to the function of your engine.  When any part of your cooling system malfunctions, you will most likely end up breaking down from an overheated engine.  The center of your cooling system is the radiator fan.  Your radiator fan consists of three major components: the fan motor, fan blade, and fan shroud.  The fan motor powers the radiator fan and spins the fan blades.  The spinning fan blades create the air flow used to cool the engine.  Your vehicle may have as many as eleven fan blades or as few as four.  The plastic hooded covering that protects the fan blades is your Subaru fan shroud.  It also directs the air flow through the core and stops it from flowing back through.  All three parts of the radiator fan must always be in good working order.  When any one of these parts is worn down or cracked, your engine is prone to overheating and breaking down.
